The Watsons Go to Birmingham-1963
Recently in my English class, we read a book called The Watsons Go to Birmingham-1963 by Christopher Paul Curtis. It's about the Birmingham Church Bombing of '63. One of my favorite things about this book is that it is written from the hilarious point of view of a ten year-old boy named Kenny, yet the main character is his older brother, Byron. Byron is a "juvinile delinquent" who dooes enough bad things that now he has to live with his grandmother for the summer down in Birmingham, Alabama. There is plenty of country slang to keep all eyes busy. Christopher Paul Curtis has written a five star novel.

The Butterfly Clues
The Butterfly Clues by Kate Ellison is I think one of the best books I have ever read. The detail in this book is so amazing, it's almost hard to imagine going through the process of writing it. The story is about a sixteen year old girl who has OCD. THe only thing, and I mean the only thing that I don't like about The Butterfly Clues is the fact that I couldn't put it down. It's absolutely impossible to read just one chapter. Kate Ellison is an amazing author and I can't wait to see what she does next.

The Color of My Words
In my English call at my school, we just finished reading a book called The Color of My Words. The plot of the story is very hard to describe without giving anything away. But it is a very good book all the same. It's one of those books where you think it's going to be very boring and uneventful, but it's really not. I reccommend it to people of all ages.
