The Mysterious Benedict Society is in my list of top ten books. It makes you think in ways you never have before. This book reminds me of Pringles. You can't have just one. You read, and read, and read, but you just can't stop. I give this book five stars. Wonderful.
Zowie! You are so right! I recommended to two of my teacher friends that they get ahold of it before the school year starts so they can read it and get their students to do so. One of them teaches 7th - 8th grade. It's perfect.
ReplyDeleteIt seems to express lots of my criticisms of the current state of education in a way that's exciting to read and accessible to readers at every level. I love it, love it, love it! Thanks for the recommendation and the loan.
Howdy, I'm a friend of your granddaddy. I, too, loved the book. It reminded me of A Series of Unfortunate Events though less dark. But the intrepid group of problem solvers is similar. I like the MBS better because it's more developed and more realistic. Have you read the sequels yet? My to-read list is so long, it might need to be a few months. :)
